MFDS is seeking a talented architect/designer (2 to 7 years) to join our practice in Boston. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of a project: from initial project design visioning, programming and design of space & form to documentation, coordination, permitting and construction administration. You will be part of a small and collaborative team to create design solutions that serve the client, community, and built environment.
Applicants should be both independent and collaborative, design-focused, and proactive problem-solvers. You will work on multiple projects and all aspects in a small and growing architecture practice.
• Work in close collaboration with principal/project manager on all aspects of design and its development • Create graphic presentations (both content and structure) to convey design thinking • Research local zoning codes, relevant contextual development, planning initiatives, and precedent • Prepare presentation materials for various review agencies (historic, zoning, etc.) • Produce project documentation in all project phases • Participate in both internal and external meetings
• Design talent • 2 to 7 years professional experience • B.Arch or M.Arch degree • Proficiency in: Revit, Adobe CS, digital modeling • Willingness to dive into zoning code, building code, and municipal review requirements • Ability to work nimbly in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment • A proactive approach to problem-solving and design • Excellent writing and communication skills
