MFDS was commissioned to transform an underutilized and neglected building into a 6-unit apartment. The project was completed in two phases - with the first developing the parcel as-of-right into a 4-unit apartment, and the final phase completing a variance process with the City of Boston to add two more units.
After the first phase was completed, MFDS worked with the development team to push the project through the variance process - working with the Worcester Square Area Neighborhood Association (WSANA) and the City of Boston's Landmarks Commission to successfully pass their requirements and design review.
MFDS added two floors to the existing building, while completely renovating the existing facade with a terracotta panel system.
