An upscale residential conversion with a lively history. Formerly the Jazz Age nightclub Estelle’s, this dilapidated building stood unused and untended for over a decade before undergoing renovation. Our tasks in taking on the project were to maintain the building’s historical features, uphold its colorful memory, and give it a new life.
The building’s familiar brick upper-exterior was preserved throughout the design process, while the lower-exterior was restored to resemble its original 1920s appearance with dark metal siding and a heavily windowed face. As a nod to these details, the unique loft apartments’ interiors include exposed trusses and industrial materials, which are balanced by elegant light fixtures as well as bright walls and flooring.
