MFDS was tasked with renovating an existing mid-century modern home in dire need of a refresh, as well as adding more living space by adding a guest suite above the detached garage and two master bedroom suites in a two-story addition.
The clients and their family spend their summers in the house, and the semi-detached design of the two-story master bedroom wing allowed construction to start in the summer with minimal disruption to the family and their summer retreat. Once the family left, the addition was then connected to the existing house via a glass bridge, and complete recladding of the exterior, along with a new landscape design, was also undertaken to tie the existing and new portions of the home together.
